Let me invite you to see the excellent job that my pupils of Grade 10° A-B did for a  special class..
This class consisted on preparing some snacks with instructions step by step. As a result of this, they were able to do delicious food like hamburgers, cakes, milkshakes, hot dogs, so on. It was the  most meaningful job I've done at World Vision School. Students showed that English is learnt in many different ways and seriously. Thank you guys!!

Boyaca battle

On the 7th of August, 1819, the Battle of Boyacá took place in Colombia (then known as New Granada). This was the battle in which Colombia gained independence from the Spanish Monarchy, and it just so happens to be the day after Bogota was born. Double reason to celebrate.

In 1819 a combined republican army consisting of Colombians and Venezuelans (as well as some of the British Legion) took two hours to defeat the Spanish Royalist army in an area 150km from Bogotá, close to a bridge over the Teatinos River. This bridge (El Puente de Boyacá) is not in use any more, but remains a symbol of South American independence. It is the same bridge at which Bolivar’s men caught the Spanish approach, and the battle began.

This week was celebrated this important date with a special memorial at school. This was a great time in which some students were congratulated because they are really good at social class and history. Also, there were other presentations like theatrical acts about the theme, and dancing with music from Boyaca. Pupils enjoyed much!

OLYMPIC GAMES -LONDON 2012

ome National Olympic Committees (NOCs) may appoint an Authorised Ticket Reseller (ATR) in order to help the general public obtain tickets and services relating to the London 2012 Olympic Games.
All Authorised Ticket Resellers (ATRs) will identify themselves through the use of the official London 2012 Authorised Ticket Reseller logo. In accordance with rules set out by London 2012, all ATRs must:
  • State the territory in which they have been appointed to sell tickets.
  • Limit their servicing mark-up fee to 20% of the ticket's face value (up to a maximum of 40 British Pounds sterling per ticket).
  • Apply a fair and justifiable exchange rate.
  • Make it clear that the only additional charge related to the ticket sale is for delivery at a fair cost and only if tickets are shipped.
  • Provide each customer with an itemised purchase receipt detailing the full breakout of all charges: tickets, permitted servicing mark-up and shipping.
  • Post the London 2012 ticket prices (at face value) in British Pounds on their website.
  • Post London 2012's terms and conditions of ticket purchase and spectator rules on their website and communicate clearly to all ticket purchasers.
  • Provide all customers with general information about London 2012 including where to source the latest travel information.
If you do not find your country listed here, it means that your country's National Olympic Committee has not yet finalised its arrangements to offer tickets in your country. As London 2012's list of agents is continually updated, please check back in future to see if an appointment has been made. London 2012 is committed to ensuring people in all countries have the opportunity to buy tickets for the Olympic Games.

Colombia’s Independence Day: July 20, 1810:

On July 20, 1810, Colombian patriots stirred the population of Bogotá into street protests against Spanish rule. The Viceroy, under pressure, was forced to agree to allow for a limited independence which later became permanent. Today, July 20 is celebrated in Colombia as Independence Day.
